Carrying the Cross of Christ into the Future

 Nets for Africa

The Texas Conference has joined the United Nations and a network of other organizations in an effort to supply mosquito treated nets to families living on the Ivory Coast (Cote d’IVoire) in Africa. The vision is to supply every family with a net that will stop the deadly diseases transmitted by mosquitoes. At no other time in history has $10 been able to make such an impact.

Also, this is the first intervention by a church, since such efforts are usually left to the government and other secular organizations. This is not only our chance to help but to let the people of Africa know that, as Christians, we care. In addition, this effort has helped open the doors of communication with the Ivory Coast government which has, in turn, resulted in a partnership to help them with their schools, hospitals, and orphanages.
