MEMBERS SAY YES TO NEXT STEPS

During a well-attended Charge Conference, close to 80 FUMC members gave a unanimous thumbs up for the Building Committee to move ahead with detailed architectural drawings and hiring of a Construction Manager-at-Risk Builder for the new education building.

The meeting took place in the Fellowship Hall, following the second service on Sunday, March 29th. Early-service and Sunday school attendees were encouraged to stick around, eat hamburgers and enjoy fellowship while they waited for the meeting.

Prior to the vote, Treasurer Jimmy Phillips gave details of the building fund account, which at the time, totaled close to $530,000.

Joe Haynes, building committee chair, presented and fielded questions regarding the concept floor plans.

A Lego model of the new building allowed Mike Mayhugh to explain how FUMC youth and children will use the model, with each brick representing a specific amount for funds they raise.
